Golfdiscounters has publicly stated that taylormade golf clubs have surpassed its leading competitor callaway. Callaway has been a leading of the golf industry. Callaway sales have been guarding the internet so hard when people try to sell their clubs. Callaway blocks the sales of their clubs on internet sites due to counterfeiting. Callaway announces that they cannot stand the unauthorized sales of their clubs. Taylormade golf on the other hand doesen't care about the unathorized sale of their clubs. Taylormade takes a different stand on counterfeiting. Taylormade looks at counterfeting as a form of advertising. The more taylormade clubs their are the more brand saturation their is. I personal think that callaway should allow people sell their equipment with no problems. This also could be another reason why their sales are down. People aren't going to buy clubs they cannot sell. I hope one day callaway will wake up and realize what their doing to their brand. Hopefully they will wake up and give back to their customers one day. But for now it looks like taylormade golf clubs will remain the highest seller for 2009.
